Distributed by Mariel Media Group and produced by Lone Gunman Pictures, "The Gathering - Code of the West" represents the largest project I have ever undertaken.

Serving as Writer, producer and director I found myself frequently relying on the assistance of a great crew! Originally pitched to HBO/Cinemax, we also cut a "G" version for international distribution. Like all Mariel Media Group projects, The Gathering was also released in spanish.

Production took 2 years due to the schedules of the parties we wished to interview. We extend our grateful appreciation to Peter Fonda who is not only a gracious man but a true biker in every sense of the word.

We shot 9 concerts, running 2 sometimes 3 cameras at a time. Our production took us to nearly 20 of the largest motorcycle rally's in the US. Being an avid rider myself, The Gathering was an unforgettable experience.

For me, my interview with the Grandson of the original Davidson founder and now CEO of Harley Davidson, Willie G. was the crown jewel of this project. He is as down to earth as any man I have ever met and embodies the very spirit of the "The Biker".

In a show of appreciation he autographed my Harley which is a limited edition with only 1400 produced. At the end of our interview, his wife Nancy told me, and I quote...

"Of all the interviews we have ever done, this has been the most thought out and poignant I have ever experienced"

We were all stunned. Thank you Nancy.

FEATURED:

Peter Fonda, Willie G. Davidson, Cher, Jay Allen, Robbie Kenevil, Slaughter, Ratt, Marshall Tucker Band, Montgomery Gentry, Molly Hatchet, Black Oak Arkansas, Grand Funk Railroad, Steppinwolf, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and many more.

Crew with Actor/Producer/Director Peter Fonda. Good friend and neighbor of Robbie Kenevil, Peter will often times be found riding the ruals of Montana where he makes his home. Peter is very active in charity work and often serves as Grand Marshall with Jay Leno for the annual Love Run in Los Angeles.
Actor Branscombe Richmond and wife. Incidentally, Branscombe used my riser as a step ladder and it promptly crashed to the ground! My good fortune to have landed on top!
Member of the motorcycle club "The Uglys", Peter enjoys taking his fishing rod with him when he rides. He says his Ugly brothers don't like that much because you will often find yourself looking for him only to find him fishing in the last lake they passed while riding.
Montgomery Gentry on stage. These guys were hard to keep up with! Incredible energy in their performance and a great group of guys.
Legendary John Kay of Steppenwolf. It was very fortuitous to interview both John and Peter. The film " Easy Rider" is arguably the national anthem of biker films as is the song "Born to be Wild". We actually managed to get these two guys in the same place at the same time. Where's Dennis Hopper when you need him?
Paul Revere and the Raiders. Another prince of a man. With a career of more than 40 years, Paul shows no signs of letting up. An avid biker since the 50's Paul has dedicated himself to the cause of Veterans with the "Ride to the Wall Foundation". A shining example of the true biker spirit.
Robbie Kenevil jumps his bike over the largest permanent outdoor stage. It made no difference to Robbie that the rock band Styx was playing on it! It was also for charity. Later that evening, he auctioned his bike off and also donated the money to the same charity.
Don Brewer of Grand Funk Railroad during a performance of "We're an American Band". As raw and as powerful as the day they stormed out of Detroit, Grand Funk played to an estimated crowed of 20,000.

Willie G. Davidson, CEO of Harley Davidson signing my Harley. In order to really get into the spirit of things, I rode my bike from Dallas Texas to Sturgis South Dakota in time for the first day of shooting. I wanted to really get into the feel of it. Much like an actor does to prepare for a role. I have since made that trip 3 times!
