I love you! My contribution to Barney was a great ride! A new animated show open, 2 regular seasons of animation and FX, a new home video logo, 4 home video releases, and countless marketing and promotional projects.

After working on several marketing projects, I was asked to contribute to the television series. After assisting with the launch of the Barney theme park at Universal Studios, I began my relationship with the broadcast television group.

With the advent of new talent and technologies, Barney got really hip! Regular season additions prompted several home video releases. Riding in Barney's Car, Barney Songs Vol. 1 & 2, and the Barney Safety Video.

A new Barney Home Video logo was created to complement the new home video releases. A new show open was also added in addition to the Barney Says segment.

The new animated show open. This revived a major facelift. New background, text and character animation. I was asked to create new "twinkles" and after 3 days of hard work, (it's not as easy as it sounds) I was told my twinkles looked like "Star Search". Nothing quite captured to look and feel of the originals so they stayed!

Season 3 brought many additions to Barney. He got a plane, a car, I think he even got a train! These regular season additions prompted several home video releases. This was a ton of fun to create since Barney never had any real effects work. Granted, it's not "Independence Day" but a big step up for your average 7 year old! Hey, even I was impressed!

Not as profound as other public speakers, Barney Says did offer some useful suggestions. How else will you remember to brush your teeth or get plenty of rest! Note the cool new ABC's background and the non Start Search twinkles! Yeah, I know, I'm going to have to learn to get past that.

The Barney Safety Video was a great project. Not only in terms of child development but it also garnered several national awards for children's education. I was presented with a framed award for this project but I don't display it. Every time someone see it they say, "Ewwww! You did Barney?" Now I am one of many closet Barney enthusiasts.

A little more detail in the process of making a cardboard car go down the road! Composites, color correction, animated wheels. and shadows. It was very fuel efficient!

Another comp from the home video "Riding in Barney's Car". Most of my animation work is done Lightwave 3D.
